The Tour de Revs plan to generate interest and excitement as we travel from synod to synod on a bamboo bicycle built for three. Through pre-ride publicity, a promotional DVD, and a web page containing blogs, videos and a link for contributions, we hope to reach millions with our message. With support from the Board of Pensions, the Churchwide organization, Synods and congregational contacts, as many people as possible will receive information about the ride and our financial goals. A core team of local coordinators in each synod will be needed to organize local arrangements, communications and to help build excitement for the Tour de Revs visit.
What will we do for each Synod?
At each stop we plan to work with local congregations, clergy and synod staff, as well as the community at large to address hunger and wellness issues that have been identified as being of interest. A variety of presentations will be available:
* What are the realities of World Hunger and what
can each Christian do to end this crushing pain?
* How does good stewardship relate to Health and
Wellness?
* What is a triplet bamboo bicycle and how do you
ride that thing?
